Brazilian Griaule to supply biometric technology to Arizona

US$7.5 million contract to supply complete automated biometric identification suite

Griaule has won a contract with the Arizona State Department of Administration to supply an ABIS (Automated Biometrics Identification System) solution.

Griaule's solution was chosen to manage the entire biometric database of the state of Arizona, which today has 5 million people, amounting to millions of biometric records. The value of the deal is estimated at US$7.5 million over five years.

The contract is statewide, which means that the most diverse agencies in the state of Arizona, such as those responsible for public safety (state police), the traffic department and health, can purchase products and services under this same contract.

Griaule offered its complete biometric identification suite GBS (Griaule Biometric Suite), a state-of-the-art product in the management of large-scale biometric databases, internationally certified and used by several countries, public agencies and private companies, such as the US Department of Defense, the Superior Electoral Court and Caixa Econômica Federal.

In September 2018, Griaule won an international tender promoted by the Department of Defense to provide the GBS solution for the administration of the biometric databases of 50 million citizens in Iraq and 30 million in Afghanistan.
