This Frequently Asked Questions provides answers to basic commonly raised questions about Griaule SDKs.
Will my Fingerprint SDK 2009 licenses stop working after Jan/2017?
No. Your licenses will still work. Our licenses do not have an expiration date.
What if I need to revoke my licenses?
We will remain with our revoking policy. We will revoke up to 30% of the licenses in each Product Key.
After Jan/2017, if I have any difficulties trying to install a Fingerprint SDK 2009 license, can I contact the Support Team?
After this date, no support will be offered for the mentioned products.
May I buy new licenses to keep in my account and use after Jan/2017?
Yes.
What will happen with the applications that already run based on Fingerprint SDK 2009?
They will still work, as long as the computer has a valid license.
Can I migrate my software from Fingerprint SDK 2009 to GBS Fingerprint SDK?
Yes. GBS Fingerprint SDK has a wrapper compatible with the Fingerprint SDK 2009 API.
Can I keep my application running based on Fingerprint SDK 2009 and have it using GBS Fingerprint SDK only on new machines?
Yes, this is possible. You will need to keep the current application and a new version of it containing a wrapper compatible with the Fingerprint SDK 2009 API for the GBS Fingerprint SDK.
Do I need to pay in order to migrate my application from Fingerprint SDK 2009 to GBS Fingerprint SDK?
Yes. Fingerprint SDK 2009 and GBS Fingerprint SDK are distinct products. Even though GBS F. SDK is replacing F. SDK 2009, it also has other features. As it is a distinct product, you will need a new license so you can use it.
Can I pay only the price difference between Fingerprint SDK 2009 and GBS Fingerprint SDK?
No. GBS F. SDK is a new and distinct product, not just an upgrade. For this reason, it is necessary to purchase its license.
Is this update compulsory?
No. If you wish, you can keep your application running on Fingerprint SDK 2009. However, you won’t be able to expand it to new computers unless you have a license.
Which are the products replacing the ones being discontinued?
Fingerprint SDK and WSQ SDK will be replaced by GBS Fingerprint SDK and ICAO Face SDK will be replaced by GBS Face Quality SDK.
